"Peno-scrotal webbing" or "webbed penis" is a condition of the penis which can cause poor appearance, referring to an extension of the scrotal skin onto the underside of the shaft of the penis, which gives the appearance of a ‘turkey-neck ‘deformity. It is is a deformity where the scrotal skin extends onto the ventral penile skin, even as high up to the upper third of the ventral penile shaft.
"Peno-scrotal webbing" or "webbed penis" causes reduced length of the penile shaft, difficulty wearing a condom, downward penile curvature, and may make penetration very difficult, very uncomfortable or, even inhibit penetration.
The web can be congenital. However, it more commonly results from an overly aggressive removal of skin from the underside of the penis during circumcision, thus pulling the scrotal skin onto the penile shaft.
The aim of treatment is to match the penile skin to the penis length surgically, and restore a normal penile-scrotal angle. The mild penoscrotal web can be corrected with a z-plasty to redistribute the skin. The procedure is performed under anesthesia, as an outpatient procedure, at Alvarado Hospital, Dr. Barry Handler, a plastic surgeon collaborating in surgery.
